Sixth day concluded in the World Championship

The World Championship for Wheelchair Tennis ended today with two matches in the OPEN category for both Men and Women’s League, as well as battle for the Bronze Medal in Men’s League.

The Women’s Finals between Holland and Japan was long and tight, as Holland gained the advantage 1:0 with a victory of 6:1 6:1 of Aniek Van Koot over Manami Tanaka after 51 minutes of battle. Japan reached a draw 1:1 after a game of two hours and a minute as Yui Kamiji defeated 3:6 6:2 6:1 Diede De Groot.

The Doubles Match was extremely long and took three hours and sixteen minutes, at the end the Holland Team won 7:6 4:6 8:10 thus winning the Gold Medal.

The Men’s Finals ended with a victory 2:0 between Great Britain and France. Gordon Reid defeated 6:1 7:6 Nicolas Peifer and Alfie Hewett defeated 6:0 7:5 Stephane Houdet. For third place, Japan defeated 2:0 Argentina.
